Data from Nutrient Network site unravel biodiversity-functioning rules

In a recent publication in Nature Ecology and Evolution, an international group of researchers led by the Nutrient Network consortium exploited data collected by Amandine Hansart and Beatriz Decencière at the CEREEP-Ecotron IleDeFrance field site. The findings reveal that plant diversity, at both local and landscape scales, contributes to the maintenance of multiple ecosystem services provided by grasslands. Preserving ecosystem functioning therefore requires conservation of biodiversity both within and among ecological communities.
